Mikko Tavast

Mikko Tavast primarily acts as bankruptcy administrator in bankruptcies and as restructuring administrator in corporate restructuring proceedings and advises on insolvency matters. Tavast has experience in several major bankruptcies and restructurings, including many of the largest and most complex insolvency proceedings in Finland, many of which have involved cross-border elements.
Tavast has advised both domestic and foreign creditors in insolvency proceedings and in preparing for them. In addition, Tavast has advised so-called distressed companies and their management in preparing for insolvency proceedings.
Tavast also has experience in disputes, especially insolvency-related matters such as avoidance (clawback) proceedings, both before courts and in arbitration. His work experience covers a wide range of disputes, from significant and demanding cases to more narrowly defined and technical issues.
In addition, Tavast provides legal advice in contract matters, transactions, financing matters and company law.
Tavast is a member of the Finnish Bar Association’s insolvency law expert group. He has acted as a lecturer in several training courses organised by the Finnish Bar Association and business-sector training organisations.
